Multi Cultural Picnic!

Could the weather have been any more perfect than it was for our luncheon today?! It was gorgeous! The children had fun learning songs in both Japanese and Spanish. And, of course they LOVE having their parents join us for lunch! Thank you all for coming and enjoying some time with us!

March Madness

We finished up March Madness week!!! The children were filled with delight to dress up in fun costumes all week. Monday- Favorite Color Day, Tuesday- Pirate/Princess, Wednesday- Wacky Wednesday, Thursday- Pajama Day and Friday- Multi cultural day. How cute are they in their little outfits! So Fun!

Community Helpers Week

Thank you to Dr.Claire for coming and teaching us all about the importance of brushing our teeth. What a super dentist she is!
Also a thank you to Dr.Crystal for coming and teaching us all about our bones and the importance of keeping our bodies healthy!

Coast Guard Visit

We had a super visit from the Coast Guard! They learned all about the people who keep us safe on the water, the importance of wearing a life jacket and also caring for the environment. The children even got to take home whistles, sorry moms and dads. :)

Paramedic Visit

A big thank you to Jim Griswold (Jordan's dad) for coming to tell us about his job and show us the awesome ambulance. Cristina and Jordan C. even got to see a print out of their heart beat. All of the children had a chance to spend sometime checking out the back of the ambulance and learn about what important helpers medics are to our community.

Firefighter Visit

I think that we had the coolest firefighter visit ever! We are so grateful to these community helpers for teaching us what to do in an emergency. When asked by Firefighter Dustin "What should you do if you find matches?" Micah answers "LIGHT 'EM UP!" We also found out that Israel has had a fire at his house "In the place Santa comes down." The children had three centers to explore 1) the fire truck, they even got to use the hose, 2) a safety lesson and they even got to take a photo with a firefighter! The kids had so much fun!

Though this post is slightly belated, it doesn't change the fact that these pics are so adorable. Our students had a fabulous valentines day. They love giving cards to their friends and had pancakes and strawberries for our Valentines party!

February is here!

Oh my goodness! The school year is flying by, I can not believe that it is already February. We are having so much fun with the children and are blessed to have such a truly special group of little ones. ON top of their normal daily activities this month the students will be working on a community serivce project. They are designing "Thank You Valentines" to send overseas to our troops. Each student is cutting, pasting, coloring and sticking together sweet little valentines and Starbuck generously donated some VIA instant coffee for us to send with our cards as well. Fun Fun! The pictures are of Ms.Cherie's class creating their valentines today! So sweet!

Christmas Performance

It's better late than never and though it is already January the children are still SO adorable in their Christmas gear from the performance. They did a spectacular job and we had so much fun! Thank you to everyone for coming and enjoying our little ones!

Fall Family Fun Night

It's A Rainy Day!

The children love the rain! Instead of staying cooped up inside, the classes went for nature walks, ran races, got muddy and had a ton of fun just being kids in the rain. Ms.Denise's class even made a fort! Oh to be a Trinity student on a rainy day, so FUN!

Back to School Night

The first month of school has come and gone, I can't believe it! We are off to a fabulous start! The children are having fun getting to know each other, adjusting to the routine and learning lots. We had a fabulous 2010 Annual Auction this year at the Beach Grill at Padaro. Thank you to everyone who made the event such a success and everyone who came and made the evening so much fun! A Rocha

Our preschool Samaritan's Purse project has taken a bit of a turn, but a very welcomed one. One of our first objectives here at Trinity is to make meaningful experiences for our students, concrete experiences that bring about change and growth in their little lives. About a week ago we were introduced to Rich Dixon who works with a local non-profit group A Rocha "The Rock"... Right across the road on the other side of the church parking lot A Rocha is building a community garden that will feed 150 needy people in our community. So far our students have raised about $60 to donate to this awesome ministry and even more amazing than that is that we are going to be able to continue a relationship with A Rocha, utilizing these gardens, teaching our students how to care for the earth, care for themselves and care for others. We are SO excited for this project to develop. Awesome! Check out these photos of our first walk to "the farm".

Happy St.Patricks Day

I know the photos are a day late, but they are too cute not to share. St.Patrick's day is so fun, not simply because I love the color green but the kids are SO excited about the simple act of wearing green just like all their friends. We had green socks, hair bows and t-shirts. I think these photos represent our most green! Helena even had a green face paint shamrock and TP for Trinity Preschool, talk about school spirit!

Teddy Bear Picnic

Our 2's class (Ms.Shannon and Ms.Kirsty's class) spent morning snack in the sunshine with thier favorite cuddly friends on a Teddy Bear Picnic. I know I am biased but I think we have the most adorable 2's class around!

Mr. Drew Michaelsen came to visit with the students on Wednesday. He told them all about his job as a commercial builder and even used power tools to show us how to make a square. So fun!

It is community helpers week this week and next! Check out the pictures of our visit from the Coast Guard below. It was so great, the students had a fabulous time trying on the big boots, helmet and playing with glow sticks. Preschoolers help Haiti

I love our children, I love their heart for people and their heart for eachother. I love that they hold eachother accountable and remind eachother of how we are suppose to treat eachother, with kindness and "using our words" to solve problems. This is not to say they are not children and all have their moments of nose picking, pushing, and tattle tailing; but at heart they truly are gems and examples for all of us.
Here at Trinity Preschool we believe in empowering children, this philosophy rolls over into all that we do. As the children have seen images at home on the news of other children hungry, tired and hurting in Haiti; we have empowered them to make a difference and DO something. This coming month our students will be working on a community service project through Samaritan's Purse; raising money to purchase supplies for Haiti. We begin by voting on what we would like to send; Samaritan's Purse offers the awesome opportunity to purchase emergency supply kits, toys, cattle, chickens, etc. to help rebuild families and nations that have been struck by disaster. Check it out...it is a great way to involve your family in doing something to help.
